The product
Steward is software that helps a small firm run its office: mail, calendar, one QuickBooks Online company, and calls. It is not a law firm, a CPA, a bookkeeper of record, or a bank. Nothing here is legal, tax, or accounting advice. QuickBooks remains your books.
Who may use it
You must have authority to connect the firm’s Google accounts and QuickBooks company. If you sign in, you are responsible for the workspace and for the people you invite.
Human in the loop
Steward will not send mail as you, write the calendar, post to QuickBooks, or move money until you approve it at the Table (or a later, named instruction you explicitly graduate — that graduation is not built yet). Human-in-the-loop is a product control. It does not make Steward liable for a payment, email, or calendar event the principal approved. If you press Pay, that is your payment.
Your data and Google
Our privacy policy describes how we read Gmail and Calendar on a server. You can disconnect. You can ask us to delete. You remain responsible for what you tell Steward to send or post.
As-is
Until counsel redlines these terms, Steward is provided as-is. We do not warrant uninterrupted service, perfect triage, or that a draft is fit to send. Night shift can be wrong. That is why the Table exists.
To the fullest extent Oregon law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or consequential damages, or for a sum larger than fees you paid us in the three months before the claim (which, today, may be none).
Acceptable use
Do not use Steward to break the law, to spam, or to access someone else’s mailbox or books without authority. We can suspend a workspace if we have to.
Oregon
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Venue is the state courts sitting in Oregon. If a piece of this draft is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
